Summary, etc. The purpose of the regional ethical reflection areas is to promote ethical reflection in health care practices and to generate and coordinate ethics initiatives. Ethical reflection commissions are involved in this process. These multi-professional and multi-disciplinary commissions encourage and facilitate debate, exchange of opinions, and meetings. Our objective in this paper is to present the applied ethics approach used by the commission for the “prevention [of violence] and protection of children,” part of the PACA-Corse regional ethical reflection area, based on a situation of domestic violence during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its interest lies in the fact that it is not an artificial, textbook situation, but a real one. The lively exchanges between the members of the commission show an actualized ethical reflection, rooted in the realities of the terrain. The study of the narrative has allowed us to explore tensions that reflect current health, social, legal and political issues. In the context of the management of medico-psychosocial vulnerabilities, the issue of the limits between prevention, precaution, and protection is particularly acute. In addition, we focus on the role of third parties and the correct positioning of caregivers, who are attentive to the needs of patients. Their ethical experiences enrich our understanding of the complexity of these situations, cut across by societal issues. In the context of an ethics commission in a regional ethical reflection area, the discussion can then lead to a broader questioning aimed at shedding light on these experiences.
