520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. — Sublimation, when it is from the beginning understood as a transference onto speech, prompts consideration of the conditions necessary for risking sublimation: that is, maintaining one’s own singularity, recognising the degree of subversion implied in one’s desire and having the courage to address an unassigned other. Also, a quest for recognition in and by speech; a work of art thus implies accepting a trauma, which will in part limit the risk of collapse and support the working through of aggressivity in the face of the defusion linked to creation. Finally, overcoming terror of the other and the law against existence, or the “ fear of being afraid ” (Bion), “ in order to do away with God’s judgement ”, to quote Artaud.
