520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. The notion of allergic relation as defined by Pierre Marty implies movements of regression from the psychic to the physiological, and in particular the proximity of defensive reactions in the immunological and psychic order. In these subjects a premature interpretation in terms of separation/individuation can have catastrophic effects. Before assuming this level of interpretation, the analyst must become comfortable with experiencing moments of psychic interpenetration with his/her patient, which will often involve a corporeal dimension. Being available for psychic interpenetration may encourage the patient to discover their ability to penetrate the object. Making the object penetrable is, for Marty, an important aspect of the accommodation of the object.
