Summary, etc. Adopting a critical perspective towards what seems to have been omitted from the papers, which is in the wake of Freud in Totem and Taboo and Moses and Monotheism, the author addresses this missing trace, namely the matricial third. She argues that for the transition from the father of the horde to the paternal principle to occur, it is essential to take account of a matricial, seductive and non-split feminine/maternal, in her view at the primary origin of every human being’s ethical capacity. Reference is made to some clinical sequences reported by Delourmel and the question of transmission is also addressed.
