Summary, etc. | Autoerotism is not only “organ pleasure” or self-satisfaction in the absence of the object. The contingent and vicarious nature of the mother’s care permits auto-erotic functioning at a frontier where separation from the object and the foundations of the ego are in question. This frontier is a chiasmus: a caesura and intersection with the object and its body in the auto-erotic period. The dynamic of this intersection of the outside and the inside is related to analyses where the limit between the object and the subject is “lacking” and does not allow a dynamic specific to instinctual drive reversal to be brought into play: the passage from subject-object to subject-subject. In the clinical case presented, the regression to a double mediator between the subject and the object, and then the transition to the double of primary homosexuality, illustrates moments in the analysis when the dynamic that transposes the outside into the inside is brought into play. The author makes the hypothesis that this primitive double undergoes a reorganisation. |
