Summary, etc. REV France (Réseau français sur l’entente de voix) (French Hearing Voices Network) was founded in 2011. Its objectives? To work toward greater social acceptance of hearing voices and other unusual sensory perceptions, which it sees as forming part of the diversity of human experience and as potentially meaningful rather than as psychiatric symptoms. There are personal paths through which people can learn to cope with these experiences, break away from their identity as a patient, and develop a positive identity as a person who hears voices or experiences other unusual perceptions or sensations (Dillon and Horstein 2013). The association spreads this message of hope in public conferences, training programs, and meetings, and by helping to establish support groups. These spaces offer a range of opportunities for people who hear voices to feel less isolated, to share their experiences, to rediscover the hope of a life worth living, and to engage with a process of personal recovery.
