Summary, etc. | The figure of the precocious child is a widely used expression today. It raises questions about the reception of the specific temporality of development, the place of the impulsivity of the child’s body, the infantile part of oneself and its unconscious manifestations. Through the account of the first consultations of a very young child in the presence of his parents, we illustrate the idea that an early functioning of the child could lead to quickly to an indication of psychotherapy, to the detriment of gaining a sufficient understanding of the unconscious and conscious interchanges between the child and his parents, and of the therapeutic path that is necessary. Taking sufficient time for elaboration in consultation before proposing any separation for individual treatment is essential, for both the development of the child in full psychic construction and the infantile part of the personality, as well as for parental narcissistic wounds. |
