Summary, etc. An Erasmus+ research project on interprofessionality, which is itself part of a wider research programme on ‘Protected children in the care of relatives’ (EPCP), is looking at the ways in which stakeholders form alliances in the French department of La Réunion in the Indian Ocean. The aim is to analyse the foundations of inter-professional and inter-institutional relations and the links between institutions, children, relatives and parents, in the development and implementation of a new system for protecting children in psychosocial vulnerable situations, more specifically children at risk protected by the public authorities. Against this backdrop, the article examines the issues, resources and limitations relating to each of the areas of interprofessionality identified as part of this project: communicating with others, clarifying professional roles and identities, resolving conflicts, working in collaboration/as a team, exercising collaborative leadership, and establishing person-centred practices through the involvement of beneficiaries. It would appear that, in order to create a ‘climate’ conducive to interprofessionality, the essential prerequisite is a clearly established organisation, set out and shared between institutions, professional players and beneficiaries.
