Theelimination of the executive feature of conscience is illusory because reality itself, not its image orconcept, is executive. When a phenomenologist thinks that he is dealing with a reduced I, with an I-conscience, it is the executive I, fully real, the one which brings about a preterit image of its I, whichwas also executive before.
