Summary, etc. | Just as Hatchuel’s research seeks to go beyond the metaphysics of action to develop an axiomatic theory of collective action, this article seeks to transcend the metaphysics of coaching. Transcending means here, first, identifying the metaphysics of coaching: the utilitarianism of the professional literature, deviant practitioners, the tools of human resource management, and critical approaches. Then, on the basis of this review, the study goes on to develop a more accurate picture of what has been left unconsidered. The literary critical approach highlights the original experience of the Coachman’s constellation, which brings us back to coaching with three fundamental questions: ontological (what kind of relationship to the world is offered by coaches?), political (what is the role of coaching in the historical European concern for the inner self?), and ethical (to what extent does coaching provide a key to a sense of equilibrium? What is its relationship to conflict and competition?). |
