Summary, etc. Brecht wrote the fragment Hans im Glück in the autumn of 1919 while he was still a young unknown author. In that period of intense creation, this adaptation of a tale by the Grimm brothers is a kind of research laboratory for the great theatre he was seeking. By focusing on the notion of exchange, Brecht challenges the values inherited from tradition and reconsiders the definition of the plot.
