Summary, etc. | Nabokov’s originality resides in his trilingualism. When he translates his writings into English, Russian, or French, he avoids any superimposition of the various versions of his works. Every translation thus becomes an original and vice versa because the writer always conceived his work in three languages. Thus, thanks to a more complex understanding of what seems obvious, a reflection on the powers of art is made possible. Rather than making reality a source, Nabokov brings to light its multiplicity, which is fragmented into separate facets, thus revealing the necessity of a form of literature that plays on scale and languages in order to grasp a world of illusions. |
