Summary, etc. The aim of this paper is to describe the history of the French-speaking Neuropsychological Society (Société de neuropsychologie de langue française [SNLF]) and the theoretical and applied debates the members of the society have faced over the last forty years. With a current membership base of around 350 members and many more supporters who attend the annual forums and scientific meetings, one of the missions of the SNLF is to provide strong theoretical support for research and clinical practice. This mission is also reflected by the journal, La Revue de neuropsychologie, its official organ for the dissemination of knowledge, which allows for the fruitful and constructive dissemination and discussion of knowledge between researchers and clinicians from different specialties. This article reports on several scientific topics that have undergone significant change in recent years. The scientific commitment of the SNLF has resulted in the regular solicitation of the society by decision-making bodies concerning the detection, diagnosis, and management of cognitive disorders.
