Summary, etc. Identity support has long been mainly considered through the prism of autobiographical memory. The studies of techniques involving the stimulation of autobiographical memory to improve sense of identity have some interesting methodological limitations, given the diversity of identity support techniques. Indeed, some pioneering studies have proposed other approaches capable of supporting the identity of residents in EPHADs (nursing homes); this paper aims to review these studies in the field of neuropsychology using G.H. Mead’s theoretical framework, highlighting the importance of taking on various social roles throughout our lives, thereby constituting our “selves” and our identity. Thus, encouraging the (re)taking of roles and stimulating interactions between residents through game situations is an approach that promotes identity maintenance. By studying various types of play and ludic activities based on music, we show that these contexts can facilitate the taking of a “player” role, and no longer just that of a patient.
