| Summary, etc. | Although the psychoanalytic theory came to fully grasp social phenomena only after understanding the individual’s dynamics, in Freud’s overall vision of the relationship between individual and group, this latter appears to be fundamental.A review of some Freudian books explains how the individual and collective psychology cannot be simply seen as a genetic sequence since they develop simultaneously, and they result from a contemporary evolutionary process that gains an increasing level of complexity: intrapsychic dynamics create the conditions for a collective bond and the influence of collectivity leads to the emergence of new demands on a psychic level. |
