| Summary, etc. | This paper aims to examine the role of women in the decision-making and supervisory bodies of banks in French-speaking Africa and their role in creating value, as well as the determinants of women’s access to these environments linked to their personal lives, with particular reference to the distance between them and their families and/or the country where they completed their higher education. The age of the bank in question is also a factor. The creation of value, women’s access to managerial positions, and the question of gender in the workforce are examined by taking approaches based around governance, the theory of resources, and organizational culture respectively. |
