Summary, etc. The use of a mixed- method research design raises many questions, especially regarding the paradigmatic situation. With this paradigm, we can consider the mixed-method design as the best way of answering a research question, with the latter orienting the study toward one of the different subtypes of mixed-method design. To illustrate the use of this kind of design, we use a study conducted within the field of nursing sciences. In this article, the challenges raised by the mixed-method design, and the place of this type of research in nursing sciences is discussed.
