Through various clinical cases, films, and novels, we question the figures of feminine ambition in different periods and show how daughters either thwart or fulfill their mother’s plans, for better or for worse. To do so, we rely mainly on the concept of the superego and on Lacan’s notion of “extension of the symptom.” |
