| Summary, etc. | The law on patients’ rights and the quality of the health system was enacted on March 4, 2002. It aimed to better meet the expectations of patients, extend their rights and define the role of healthcare professionals. A law which has been described as exemplary after an exceptional public consultation phase in France. Twelve years after its enactment, even if they report overall satisfaction, many users remain unfamiliar with the legislation and some patient groups associations feel they are being excluded from decisions which affect them. |
