Summary, etc. The term “ruin” refers to both a complex social process and a polysemic concept. Ruins may also be considered a phenomenon of a relational nature. Consequently, a sociological study is based on two pillars: (a) concepts that are interpreted using a semantic posture towards the social and the sociological, and (b) social relationships that have both a logical and hybrid nature. This text develops these bases for reflection, using theoretical and methodological tools built within a sociological paradigm called Semantic-Logical Sociology, and within one of its tactics, Social Hybridology, that uses a particular style of interpretation called “Hybrid Hermeneutics.” This methodology is applied to the content and discourse analysis of the Wikipedia page “Ruins,” trying to extract the polymorphic meanings that reflect the imagination subjacent to the social form of the term “ruin.”
