Summary, etc. | This paper delves into the image and significance of the Chinese dragon in the human imagination, from ancient mythology through to modern society. The research begins with an analysis of the symbolic significance of dragons in ancient myths, revealing their close connection with cultural authority. It then goes on to explore the diverse symbolism of the dragon in traditional Chinese culture, including imperial power, authority, and auspiciousness. The paper next turns to the realm of artistic imagination, conducting a detailed analysis of dragon imagery in literary works, as well as its imaginative representation in art forms such as painting, sculpture, and dance. Building on the analysis of dragon imagery in artistic expressions, we then examine the influence and evolution of the Chinese dragon in modern society, particularly in contemporary cultural mediums such as film, animation, and gaming. In conclusion, we summarize the evolution of the dragon’s image and significance within the realm of the imagination, pointing out its continuous transformation and expansion over the course of history. This paper also proposes avenues and scope for future research. |
