520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. As systemic therapists we are interested in the balancing of cooperative exchanges within the couple. A fundamental and basic model for this type of exchanges is Robert Axelrod’s Tit For Tat (TFT). This minimal model of the cooperative exchange is under threat and pressure in the couples that seek our help. From an “etho-psychological” point of view, we hypothesize that the main condition for the consolidation or the return of TFT involves trust in the permanence of the partner’s value systems. A therapeutic example demonstrates the importance of exchange in this matter between the couple. Every feeling about betrayal, deception, and violence during the exchange process concerns the partners in their psychological and bodily integrity. A mutual acknowledgement and communication about these terrifying experiences unblock cooperative exchanges not only in the content, but also in the evolution of the partners’ “psychogenerativity.”
