Within the frame of a twenty-four hour course, he tries to educate future psychosocial workers on “systematic thought.” His pedagogy is centered on “formation” (the mobilization of learners’ everyday lives) rather than “learning” (the memorization of concepts). The author explains how he gets the learners to “feel” the systemic paradigm using four guiding principles: (1) We don’t always act on our own behalf but on behalf of a network we belong to. (2) What we call an “issue” can be seen as a “solution”. (3) Before thinking about asking for a psychosocial help, you should check what the situation is. (4) Collaboration with the family cannot be assumed, and must be built. Concrete examples and case studies illustrate this explanation.
