520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC.
Summary, etc. Behind the expression “business reform” are questions that were asked throughout the 20th century; questions about the leadership and management of business, profit sharing for employees and about the power granted to trade unions in companies. Discussions about the organization of power in companies took place particularly after the World War II. Each time, French business leaders were reserved or openly hostile to the initiatives taken by the “modernizers” of the French “Trente Glorieuses” (the post-war boom). The 1945 reforms concerning the employee committees brought to the fore again the issue of how companies worked. This debate was resumed in the 1950s and then again at the beginning of the 1960s over François Block-Lainé’s book. The report of the commission presided by Pierre Sudreau in 1974-1975 must be seen as one stage in the process.
