| Summary, etc. | Cet article traite de la relation entre les capitaux étrangers et la survie des firmes pour les entreprises en Allemagne. A cette fin, nous utilisons une nouvelle base de données unique qui fusionne les informations provenant (i) des enquêtes réalisées par les instituts de statistique, (ii) des données administratives recueillies auprès des autorités fiscales et (iii) d’un fournisseur de données commerciales. Cet article contribue à la littérature en mettant en évidence le rôle des capitaux étrangers pour la survie des entreprises en Allemagne, l’un des pays de destination les plus importants pour les investissements directs étrangers. Toutes choses égales par ailleurs, notre analyse micro-économétrique révèle un risque plus élevé de sortie pour les entreprises étrangères.Classification JEL : F23 ; L60. |

| Summary, etc. | This paper documents the relationship between foreign ownership and firm survival for enterprises in Germany using unique tailor-made new representative data that merge information from surveys performed by the Statistical Offices, from administrative data collected by the Tax Authorities and from a commercial data provider. It contributes to the literature by providing the first evidence on the role of foreign ownership for the survival of enterprises in Germany, one of the most important destination countries for foreign direct investments. Our micro-econometric analysis reveals a ceteris paribus higher risk of exit for foreign-owned firms. JEL classification : F23 ; L60. |
