| Summary, etc. | Oséo est un acteur majeur du soutien au financement des entreprises, notamment en ce qui concerne l’innovation. Son large champ d’intervention lui donne la possibilité d’accompagner les entreprises tout au long de leur développement. Ce travail est centré sur l’analyse de son activité de soutien à l’innovation. Il analyse la légitimité économique de cette intervention et son efficacité, notamment en ce qui concerne la sélection des projets. Plus particulièrement, nous montrons qu’Oséo sélectionne des projets performants : à dépenses de R&D égales, un projet sélectionné par Oséo et financé à hauteur de 33 % conduirait à 3 fois plus de brevets qu’un projet non soutenu par Oséo. |

| Summary, etc. | The Role of OSEO in the Financing of Innovation OSEO is a key source of financial support for French businesses, in particular for their innovation efforts. Its broad remit enables it to support firms throughout their growth. Focusing on OSEO’s support for innovation, we analyse the economic legitimacy of its role and assess its performance, notably in project selection. Specifically, we show that OSEO selects effective projects: for the same level of R&D expenditures, a project selected and 33%-financed by OSEO generates three times as many patents as a project not supported by OSEO. |
