| Summary, etc. | Cet article propose une analyse des stratégies des organisations de producteurs (OP) au Costa Rica et des politiques destinées à les renforcer. L’analyse historique montre que l’émergence et le renforcement des OP sont fortement dépendants de facteurs internes à l’OP, en particulier de ses ressources et de ses règles de fonctionnement, mais aussi de la nature des politiques publiques qui ont évolué du protectionnisme vers un plus grand libéralisme et une moindre attention au secteur agricole. Elle met en évidence une pluralité des trajectoires et une grande diversité des stades de développement des OP, qui permet de proposer une typologie des organisations justifiant des appuis adaptés en fonction du type d’organisation. |

| Summary, etc. | The article analyses the producers’ organizations (PO) strategies in Costa Rica and the policies aiming at strengthening them. The historical analysis shows that the emergence and strengthening of the POs largely depend on (i) internal factors as the resources and rules of the POs and (ii) the nature of the public policies which evolved from protectionism to liberalism and less attention to the agricultural sector. It highlights different trajectories of evolution and a large variety between POs in terms of degree of development. It concludes with a typology of POs which is a useful tool to fine-tune POs supports activities according to the specificity of the POs. |
