| Summary, etc. | L’intérêt pour le commerce transfrontalier des produits agricoles et horticoles entre le Cameroun et ses voisins de la CEMAC est évident. Mais la connaissance de son ampleur, de ses déterminants et de ses conséquences reste insuffisante en raison de leur caractère informel car non prise en compte dans les statistiques officielles, ce qui handicape la formulation des politiques économiques appropriées et des stratégies pour exploiter son impact potentiel sur la croissance et la réduction de la pauvreté. Le but de cet article vise à lever cette méconnaissance en estimant le volume et la valeur de ce commerce. Des recommandations de politique économique sont ensuite formulées pour une contribution de ce sous-secteur à l’économie de la sous- région en général et du Cameroun en particulier. |

| Summary, etc. | The interest for the Cross-border trade of agricultural and horticultural commodities between Cameroon and its neighbours is obvious. But the consciousness of its scope, of its determinants and its consequences remains insufficient because of its informal aspect and its insufficient recording in official statistics. This handicaps the formulation of appropriate policies and strategies to exploit its potential impact on growth and poverty alleviation. The purpose of this article is to solve this misrecognition by estimating the volume and value of that cross-border trade. Policies recommendations are then formulated for a great contribution of that sub-sector to economy of the sub-region in general and the Cameroon in particular. (JEL: F150) |
