| Summary, etc. | Cet article analyse les facteurs d’adoption d’une technologie alternative de protection du cotonnier, la Lutte étagée ciblée (LEC), ainsi que ceux affectant l’intensité d’adoption de celle-ci au sein des exploitations cotonnières du Nord-Bénin. Identifiés à travers le modèle en deux étapes de Heckman, les facteurs institutionnels et l’appréciation portée sur la qualité des insecticides LEC affectent positivement l’adoption de la LEC alors que la spécialisation en coton freine cette adoption. La fourniture en insecticides LEC seule ne garantit pas la diffusion à grande échelle de la LEC, il faut qu’ils soient livrés à bonne date et que les facteurs institutionnels qui participent à l’application correcte de la technologie soient réunis. |

| Summary, etc. | Adoption factors of the Targeted Staggered Control in Northern-BeninThis article analyzes the adoption factors of an alternative technology of cotton protection, called Targeted Staggered Control (TSC) and adoption intensity factors among cotton farms in Northern-Benin. Identified through Heckman two-stage procedure, institutional factors and the assessment of the quality of TSC-specific pesticide affect positively TSC adoption, while cotton specialization affects negatively this adoption. Scaling out TSC adoption does not simply depend on the availability of TSC-specific pesticide, but on the delivery of this TSC-specific pesticide at the right time and along with the institutional factors that contribute to the right use of the technology.
