| Summary, etc. | Aujourd’hui la biomasse est identifiée comme la seule source de carbone naturelle et renouvelable connue qui soit suffisamment importante pour être substituée aux combustibles fossiles. Dorénavant, il est attendu de cette ressource des fonctions sociétales entraînant un changement de nos modes de production et de consommation des produits agricoles. Face au foisonnement de projets territoriaux de valorisation de biomasse, l’objectif de l’article consiste à appréhender les modalités socio-économiques de leur émergence sur les territoires agricoles et les processus décisionnels des acteurs engagés sous l’angle de leurs motivations et de leurs freins à s’impliquer dans un projet de méthanisation. Des entretiens semi-directifs ont été menés auprès des agriculteurs impliqués. Une typologie a alors émergé de cette recherche, mettant en évidence la complexité des processus de décision dans une filière de valorisation non alimentaire de la biomasse. |

| Summary, etc. | Today, biomass is the only known natural and renewable carbon source of which there is enough to substitute fossil fuels. This resource is expected to have societal functions, leading to a change in our methods of production and consumption of agricultural products. Faced with the proliferation of territorial biomass valorization projects, this article seeks to understand the socioeconomic modalities of their emergence in agricultural territories and the decision-making processes of actors involved in terms of their motivations and their obstacles to getting involved in a methanization project. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with some of the farmers involved in the project. A typology then emerged from this research, demonstrating the complexity of decision-making processes in a non-food biomass valorization chain. |
