| Summary, etc. | RésuméLes forêts périurbaines apparaissent aujourd’hui, du fait de leurs fonctions sociales, comme des espaces indispensables et complémentaires de la ville. Les municipalités, lorsqu’elles sont propriétaires de telles forêts, tentent de mettre en place des modes de gestion conformes aux attentes des citadins, mais cela nécessite de composer entre les représentations collectives de la « forêt idéale » et les impératifs de gestion. En se servant du révélateur de la chasse, cet article tente de mettre en lumière les multiples enjeux qui gravitent autour de ces nouveaux « territoires de l’urbain » que sont les forêts périurbaines dans deux villes empreintes d’héritages culturels différents : Strasbourg et Karlsruhe. |

| Summary, etc. | Through their social functions, suburban forests are now considered essential and complementary to the urban environment. Municipalities that own them often try to apply a management model that meets the population’s expectations. However, these expectations are often dictated by an idealistic view of the forest, which fails to take real management issues into account. By revealing hunting activity in suburban forests, this article attempts to highlight the different issues at stakes in these new “urban territories”, focusing on the examples of two culturally different cities: Strasbourg in France and Karlsruhe in Germany. |
