| Summary, etc. | RésuméÀ travers le cas du Sud éthiopien, cet article se propose de réfléchir aux modalités de mise en territoire. Il s’agit de s’interroger à la fois sur ce qui fait territoire et sur la manière dont les vecteurs de territorialisation peuvent être mobilisés au cours du temps. Une attention particulière est portée à l’amplitude chronologique du processus ainsi qu’aux modalités de succession des encadrements territoriaux. Le passage d’une administration à une autre s’avère être un facteur de territorialisation important. En un sens, pour construire et s’approprier un territoire il faut tout autant mobiliser correctement les encadrements passés qu’appliquer des normes territoriales nouvelles. |

| Summary, etc. | Through the case of Southern Ethiopia, this article examines the territorial process by looking at the conditions of territorialisation: patterns of territorial construction and chronological dimension of the process. The demonstration focuses on how previous territorial or spatial divisions are integrated into the current territorial construction The transition from one administration to another is a key factor in territorialisation. In a sense, building and owning a territory depends as much on the ability to assimilate previous administrative divisions as on the invention of new territorial standards. |
