| Summary, etc. | RésuméLa facilité d’accès aux données cartographiques procurée par le géoweb a développé depuis quelques années la disponibilité des connaissances géographiques pour les utilisateurs non spécialistes. Une nouvelle cartographie bénévole s’est développée un peu partout, mais la géographie n’est pas seulement une cartographie, c’est aussi une invitation au débat citoyen. Dans ce débat, la recherche scientifique doit être conduite en parallèle avec les connaissances géographiques provenant de la population concernée elle-même. Ainsi s’ouvre la voie vers une nouvelle conception de l’analyse territoriale. |

| Summary, etc. | Geographical data-bases: from open access to civic involvementThe easy access to cartographic data provided by the GeoWeb has for some years been enhancing the availability of geographic knowledge to non-expert users. A new amateur cartography is developing widely, but geography is not merely cartography, it is also an invitation into the civic debate. In this debate the scientific research should run alongside the geographic knowledge provided by the people concerned by that research. This opens the way to a new approach of spatial study. |
