| Summary, etc. | Ancré en Géorgie depuis 1959, le rugby à XV y est longtemps demeuré un sport confidentiel, avant que le pays ne devienne une « nation émergente » du rugby mondial. En lien avec les performances de l’équipe nationale masculine, les Lelos, toujours qualifiée en Coupe du monde depuis 2003, sa pratique s’est progressivement diffusée au sein du territoire géorgien. L’étude de cette diffusion est fondée sur les travaux d’Hägerstrand, Rogers, Brown et Blaut. Au-delà des aspects classiques de la diffusion spatiale, l’article met en valeur les rôles spécifiques de la médiatisation, de la financiarisation et de la construction culturelle du rugby à XV qui a acquis le rang de sport national en Géorgie. |

| Summary, etc. | Rugby union has been played in Georgia since 1959. However, it remained a confidential sport for a long time, before the country rose to the rank of “emerging nation” in the rugby world. In correlation with the performance of the male national team, nicknamed the Lelos, which has always qualified for in Rugby World Cup since 2003, the practice of rugby has gradually spread across the country. The study of this diffusion is based on the works of Hägerstrand, Rogers, Brown and Blaut.
