| Summary, etc. | The paper begins with a survey of Josef Winkler’s work from his debut in 1979 until the Büchner-prize in 2008 and of his place in the Austrian literary field. It examines the narrator’s strategies in the three first novels (later known as the trilogy Das wilde Kärnten) ; between submission and dependence, in front of an order personified by the father, the narrator as a rebel is yet rather far away from politics and history and does not argue in terms of literary engagement but rather persists in a non-logical writing and representation of himself as consequences of his condition as an outsider. |

| Summary, etc. | Nach einem Überblick über Josef Winklers Werk und seine Situation innerhalb des österreichischen literarischen Feldes von der ersten Buchveröffentlichung an (1979) bis zum Büchner-Preis 2008 untersucht der Aufsatz die Haltung des erzählenden Subjektes in den ersten drei Romanen der Trilogie Das wilde Kärnten. Der Erzähler wird mit der vom Vater verkörperten sozialen und moralischen Ordnung konfrontiert, tendiert aber dazu, in seinen Angriffen politisch pauschale Argumente zu verwenden, und verharrt – als Ausdruck seiner zutiefst widersprüchlichen Situation als Außenseiter – in einer nicht-logischen Schreibweise und Selbstdarstellung. |
