| Summary, etc. | The professor and writer Adolf Meschendörfer edited for seven years a periodical entitled Die Karpathen (1907-1919), which had the aim of reconciliation among the nations in Transylvania. He wrote ethnically based novels and the most famous peom in Transsilvania, Siebenbürgische Elegie (1927), which was imitated by many Saxon authors. An intercultural analysis can detect reminiscences of Ovid and Trakl and show that this poem is far beyond « Heimatdichtung » and Blut-und-Boden poetry. |

| Summary, etc. | Durch seine schriftstellerische Tätigkeit und als Herausgeber der Zeitschrift Die Karpathen (1907-1914) hat Adolf Meschendörfer die siebenbürgisch-deutsche Literatur im 20. Jahrhundert entscheidend beeinflusst. Seine Siebenbürgische Elegie (1927) wurde von siebenbürgischen Autoren so häufig repliziert wie kaum ein anderes deutches Gedicht. Eine interkulturelle Bewertung der Elegie ermöglicht es, formale und inhaltliche Reminiszenzen kleineren Umfangs von Ovid und Trakl zu erkennen, welche die engen Grenzen der « Heimatdichtung » überschreiten. |
