| Summary, etc. | With great insistence, Emil Staiger (1908-1987), professor of German Studies in Zurich, has placed his own methodological reflections on the interpretation of literary works in the context of Martin Heidegger’s philosophy. For Staiger, Heidegger’s philosophy, and in particular « Time and Being », has provided literary studies with a twofold task : firstly, in a historical perspective, always to interpret poetic works in the light of their temporal structure; secondly, in a systematic perspective, to prove the temporal origin of the lyrical, epic and dramatic modes. Heidegger’s interpretations of Hölderlin, however, virtually led to a struggle of authority concerning the legitimacy of a philological or a philosophical interpretation of poetic works. This culminated in the well-known correspondence on a Mörike poem. The article aims to present the affinities and the tensions which have shaped this complex relationship. |

| Summary, etc. | Der Zürcher Germanist Emil Staiger (1908-1987) hat mit großer Beharrlichkeit seine eigenen methodischen Überlegungen zur Interpretation literarischer Werke als Teil der Wirkungsgeschichte der Philosophie Martin Heideggers gesehen. Heideggers Philosophie habe vor allem mit Sein und Zeit der Literaturwissenschaft ein zweifaches Arbeitsfeld eröffnet, in historischer Perspektive dasjenige der Interpretation poetischer Werke in ständigem Hinblick auf ihre temporale Struktur, in systematischer Hinsicht dasjenige, den Nachweis des temporalen Ursprungs des Lyrischen, Epischen und Dramatischen zu erbringen. An Heideggers Hölderlininterpretationen entzündete sich jedoch zwischen Heidegger und Staiger ein regelrechter Kompetenzstreit über die Legitimität einer philologischen und einer philosophischen Auslegung von Dichtung, der in dem bekannten Briefwechsel über ein Mörikegedicht kulminierte. Der Beitrag versucht, die Affinitäten und Spannungen darzustellen, die dieses komplexe Verhältnis geprägt haben. |
