| Summary, etc. | À la faveur de multiples perfectionnements et d’innovations techniques, l’industrie parisienne du bronze d’art fut, au XIXe siècle, un secteur très attractif et en fort développement. Cette prospérité induisait d’importants investissements financiers, notamment dans la création ou l’achat de modèles, dont la protection contre la contrefaçon devint un enjeu capital pour les fabricants, et pour laquelle fut fondée en 1817 la Réunion des Fabricants de Bronze. L’étude des litiges pour contrefaçons entre les fabricants met en évidence de manière surprenante, si ce n’est paradoxale, l’importance des stratégies de contournement des règles de protection dans les processus de création eux-mêmes. |

Its success attracted high levels of financial investment to support the creation and to purchase models. It was becoming increasingly important to protect them from forgery and, for this reason, the Association of Bronze Producers was created in 1817. A detailed study of the litigation procedures for forgery between manufacturers highlights the surprising – and paradoxical – significance of strategies to thwart the rules put in place to protect the models in the process of creation itself. |
