Summary, etc. |
520 ## - SUMMARY, ETC. | |
Summary, etc. | SUMMARY Phonological and metaphonological disorders in developmental dyslexia This paper examines a set of experimental paradigms which reveal phonological disorders in dyslexic children. These deficits concern the processing of the speech signal, the elaboration of phonological codes to access lexical information, and the activation of phonological codes stored in memory. Generally, dyslexics also show metaphonological deficiencies which might affect the development of connections between written words and linguistic knowledge. The issue of phonological and metaphonological training with dyslexics to improve reading and with preschoolers as a tool to prepare reading acquisition is also examined. |
