Summary, etc. | RÉSUMÉ Cette recherche étudie les compétences inférentielles des enfants concernant les états mentaux d’un pair évoluant dans une situation de corésolution d’un problème. Elle vise à mieux comprendre les processus psychologiques qui sous-tendent les interactions sociocognitives ; 49 enfants âgés de 10 ans sont invités à observer de courtes séquences vidéo d’une interaction sociocognitive entre deux enfants. Ils doivent ensuite produire des inférences par l’intermédiaire de questions concernant les états mentaux d’un des enfants filmés et certains aspects de l’interaction. Une partie des participants regardent les différentes séquences avec le son et l’autre partie regardent les mêmes séquences privées du son (muettes). Les résultats montrent que les enfants produisent des inférences pertinentes. Elles diffèrent selon le type de séquence observée. Les comportements non verbaux constituent des indices importants pour produire ces inférences. |

Summary, etc. | SUMMARY Inferring mental states when interacting The present study investigates the children’s ability to infer mental states of a peer related to a collaborative interaction setting. The purpose was to understand psychological processes involved in sociocognitive interactions. Forty-nine ten-year-olds children observed short video passages extracted from a sociocognitive interaction between two children. A first group saw the different sequences with sound and the second without sound (dumb). By the mean of questions, all children had to produce inferences about mental states of one of the videotaped child and others characteristics of the interaction. Results show that all the children made relevant inferences. Inferences differ for each passage observed. Nonverbal behaviours are important cues to produce those inferences. |
