| Summary, etc. | RÉSUMÉ Agir intentionnellement requiert la formation préalable de deux états mentaux distincts : l’intention de résultat (liée au désir) et l’intention d’action (liée à la croyance). Cette étude développementale menée auprès de 75 enfants âgés de 3 à 6 ans se propose d’explorer la capacité à s’auto-attribuer et à attribuer à autrui ces deux états intentionnels. Une première expérience réalisée dans le cadre des attributions interpersonnelles retrouve des résultats similaires à ceux obtenus dans le cadre des attributions intrapersonnelles, à savoir un décalage développemental entre intention de résultat et intention d’action (l’intention d’action n’étant pas conceptualisée avant l’âge de 5 ans en moyenne lorsqu’elle repose sur une fausse croyance). Une seconde expérience impliquant les deux types d’attribution au travers d’une même méthodologie révèle une concordance selon l’âge entre les attributions intrapersonnelle et interpersonnelle de l’intention d’action. Le développement de l’intentionnalité propre et de l’intentionnalité attribuée à autrui apparaît symétrique et synchrone. |

Intrapersonal and interpersonal attributions of action intention : A comparative study Acting intentionally requires the prior genesis of two mental states : the outcome intention (linked to desire) and the action intention (linked to belief). The present developmental study aims at investigating the capacity of self-attribution and other-attribution regarding these two intentional states of 75 children aged from 3 to 6 years. A first experiment realised within the framework of interpersonal attributions indicated similar results to those obtained within the framework of intrapersonal attributions, namely a developmental gap between outcome intention and action intention (action intention is not conceptualised on average before the age of 5 when it is based on a false belief). A second experiment involving the two types of attribution showed an age matching between self and other-attribution of action intention. The development of own intentionality and other intentionality appears symmetrical and synchronous. |
