Summary, etc. | RésuméQu’ils soient conformistes ou anticonformistes, libertaires ou autoritaires, irascibles ou plutôt zen (etc.), impossible pour les adolescents d’échapper à la réflexion morale ! On entend ici par « morale » la manière de se situer vis-à-vis des normes sociales, aussi bien dans les rapports interindividuels quotidiens que dans les conceptions idéologiques sur le fonctionnement de la société. Or, l’analyse du développement moral s’est considérablement diversifiée ces dernières années. Aux références cognitives se sont ajoutées la prise en compte des émotions impliquées, et la recherche des facteurs sociaux de risque et de protection. De plus, l’orientation cognitive s’est elle-même renouvelée. Les résultats obtenus peuvent contribuer à mieux gérer les interventions éducatives et la prise en charge des adolescents en difficulté. Loin de s’en tenir à des prescriptions imposées, ces interventions devraient plutôt promouvoir les sollicitations environnementales susceptibles d’induire des formes de réaction constructive. |

Summary, etc. | Moral reflection in adolescents: emotion, cognition or socialization?Adolescents may be conformist or nonconformist, libertarian or authoritarian, irascible or rather zen (etc.), but they can’t elude moral reflection. “Moral” means here the personal position about social norms, either in daily social interactions or in ideological thinking about institutional order. Recently, research on moral development was greatly diversified. The cognitive approach was renewed and completed by taking into account emotions. Factors of risk and protection were also considered. Evidence in this field may be of main interest for educators and therapists. Environmental appeal to prompt constructive reactions will be preferred to behavioral control and constraints. |
