Atteinte du corps liée à ses signes propres ou à un retard statural ou pubertaire, défaillance pouvant toucher le narcissisme et renforcer les liens de dépendance aux parents, différence gênant l’intégration au groupe des pairs, la maladie entrave parfois le processus de l’adolescence. Pourtant, la majorité des enfants malades traversent une adolescence sans grande différence avec leurs pairs sains. Loin de redouter cette période, les soignants devront valoriser les signes de l’autonomisation du jeune et savoir se confronter si nécessaire avec la question de l’observance. |

| Summary, etc. | Mutual interaction between adolescence and chronic disease is numerous. Disease may hinder the adolescent process by impairing the body with its specific signs, short stature or delayed puberty, by wounding narcissism and strengthening dependence bonds with parents and by disrupting peer group integration. Yet the adolescence of a majority of sick children does not differ from the ones of their healthy peers. Far from dreading this period, caregivers have to reinforce their patients’ empowerment and deal when necessary with the issue of compliance. |
