Lacan a repris tout au long de son enseignement la question ouverte par Freud « Qu’est-ce qu’un père ? » en l’enrichissant de nouvelles coordonnées, mais en veillant à laisser ouvert ce questionnement dont il nous lègue l’héritage. Cette question est certes celle que se pose l’enfant mais ne manque pas de faire écho à la problématique paternelle telle qu’elle se déplie dans le travail analytique. Que ce soit par le biais de la chanson (« Papaoutai »), de la littérature ( Flac de S. Andre), du théâtre, ( Le petit Eyolf d’H. Ibsen) ou encore du cinéma ( Tel père, tel fils de Kore-Eda Hirokazu), les artistes, précédant le psychanalyste, nous rappellent qu’on ne nait pas père, on le devient (ou pas) mais que la confrontation au signifiant de la paternité peut aussi provoquer des dommages que les cliniciens connaissent bien. |

Lacan picked up on the question put forward by Freud, « What is a father ? », enriching it with new references but ensuring the questioning he left as his heritage remained open. Admittedly this question is the one a child asks himself, but also reiterates the paternal problematics unveiled on the analyst’s couch. Whether it be through song, « Papaoutai » (Daddy, where are you ?), literature ( Flac by S. André), theatre ( Little Eyolf by H. Ibsen), or cinema ( Like Father, Like Son by Kore-Eda Hirokazu), artists, preceding the psychoanalyst, remind us that we are not born a father, we become one (or not), but that confronting the signifier of paternity can also cause the damage that clinicians know well. |
