Summary, etc. | Le bonheur au travail est devenu un thème à la mode avec, pour conséquences, des prises de position, des avis, des commentaires et des publications de toutes natures, bien trop souvent, sans fondements scientifiques. Cet article présente une approche rationnelle en partant de la notion de bonheur et de son analogie avec la notion de santé globale. Ces deux concepts s’articulent autour d’une vision qui débouche sur certains objectifs que l’on retrouve dans ceux de la santé au travail, tel le bien-être par exemple. Dans un monde du travail qui change très rapidement et avec des attentes qui évoluent aussi de manière importante, diverses pistes visant à promouvoir la qualité de vie au travail, donc la satisfaction et le bien-être, sont examinées à la lumière de ces nouvelles exigences. La question de savoir comment se mesure le bonheur est ainsi analysée sur la base des recommandations du guide de l’Organisation de coopération et de développement économiques (OCDE) concernant l’évaluation du bien-être subjectif. Finalement, quelques avancées de la recherche, en lien direct avec le bonheur, permettent d’étayer la dimension scientifique de ce thème et d’esquisser les enjeux pour le futur. Enjeux qui se situent sur le plan de la recherche et des nouvelles connaissances encore nécessaires et sur le plan de la mise en pratique des nouveaux principes de management, d’organisation du travail et de santé au travail. |

Summary, etc. | Happiness at work is emerging as a trendy topic. As a consequence, quite a number of comments, statements, and publications, including those on social networks, appear daily, most often without any scientific basis. This paper presents a rational approach that starts from the concept of happiness and its analogy with the concept of global health. Both concepts are considered to be a vision that leads to various practical objectives that are also shared by occupational health, such as well-being. Looking at the rapidly changing working world and the new expectations of work in this world sheds light on some avenues that might be investigated to promote the quality of working life, satisfaction, and well-being. The question of how to assess happiness is raised and analyzed through the OECD guidelines for measuring subjective well-being. To complete this overview, we examine several research advances directly related to happiness that provide support for the scientific dimensions of happiness and help to outline the challenges ahead. They concern not only the issues of scientific research but also the step needed to put these new factors into practice as principles of management, of work organization, and of occupational health. |
