La conclusion discute des problèmes des politiques d’intégration numérique et leur relation avec l’ensemble des politiques de lutte contre l’inégalité sociale et la pauvreté. |

| Summary, etc. | The digital divide and education in Brazil in and out of schoolThis article analyses the access to and impact of information technology and the Internet on the Brazilian school system. In a first part we examine the expansion of computers and of the Internet and the problems resulting from their everyday use in public and private schools in Brazil. In a second part we look into the use of IT by individuals of different school levels from a survey carried out in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. In conclusion we discuss the problems of digital integration policies and their relation with all the policies of fight against social inequality and poverty. |
