| Summary, etc. | En réponse aux programmes wallons pour l’environnement et la santé, l’Institut scientifique de service public (ISSeP) développe une approche intégrée de l’évaluation des points noirs environnementaux en Wallonie (Belgique). L’étude présente une méthodologie et un outil basé sur les systèmes d’information géographique (SIG) pour estimer la charge environnementale multiple au niveau régional et à une résolution locale détaillée. L’outil consiste en une application web de visualisation et de croisement d’indicateurs en environnement-santé via la construction d’indicateurs composites. Ces indicateurs sont basés sur des données environnementales modélisées, des sources locales de pressions ou encore des données populationnelles afin d’identifier spécifiquement les publics vulnérables aux risques environnementaux. Les données, normalisées et agrégées par unité administrative, sont ensuite combinées au sein d’un outil interactif, modulable et pondérable, à destination des décideurs et experts wallons. Cet outil web cartographique permet de mettre en évidence les points noirs environnementaux où des risques et des nuisances se cumulent sur le territoire, afin de cibler les mesures de gestion prioritaires pour réduire les inégalités environnementales de santé. |

| Summary, etc. | The Scientific Institute of Public Services (ISSeP) developed an integrated approach to assess environmental hotspots in the Walloon region of Belgium for the region’s Environment and Health Program. This study presents an index-based method to estimate the multiple environmental burdens at the regional level and at a detailed local resolution. Indicators are based on models of environmental measurements of pollutants in ambient air and soil, on stressors for citizens such as noise and radon, and on demographic data making it possible to identify populations especially vulnerable to these environmental risks. These indicators were mapped as proportions to obtain an accurate comparison between spatial units. The data, standardized and aggregated, are then combined in an interactive, modular, and weightable GIS-based spatial web tool that computes the resulting composite index online. This tool designed for policy makers and experts highlights the environmental hotspots where risks and stressors accumulate in the region and will help authorities to target priority measures to reduce environmental health inequalities. |
