| Summary, etc. | L’analyse de l’ouvrage de Noëlle Châtelet, La Dernière Leçon, nous invite, avec l’appui de la théorie psychanalytique, à développer quelques réflexions à propos de ce que peut être la fonction de l’écriture dans ce texte. Se situant dans le cadre de l’annonce de mort volontaire et programmée de sa mère, l’adresse du texte à celle-ci nous permet d’envisager le rôle de l’écriture comme contribuant à la grande proximité relationnelle entre la mère et sa fille, et au maintien d’un lien narcissique premier. C’est également un texte qui montre aux autres son deuil et sa militance en miroir de celle de sa mère. Et, dans la perspective du récit littéraire comme construction a posteriori, nous nous interrogeons quant à la manière d’y accueillir vœux inconscients de mort et ambivalence, afin de les présenter au corps social. Présents dans tout deuil, ils semblent ici, du fait du type particulier de mort dont il s’agit - résultant d’une décision de mourir - être générateurs d’une culpabilité importante et d’un désir de réparation et de pardon intense, qui trouve son accomplissement dans l’exercice de l’écriture. Enfin, au-delà de la situation relatée dans l’ouvrage, l’écriture peut constituer le lieu d’une quête de sens, en rapport avec des événements du passé maternel. |

| Summary, etc. | The analysis of Noëlle Châtelet’s literary work The Final Lesson, invites us, thanks to psychoanalytic theory’s support, to develop some reflections about what may be the function of writing in this text. Within the framework of the announcement of her volontary and scheduled mother’s death, the text’s address to her allows us to consider the rôle of the writing as contributing to the close relationship between the mother and her daughter, and to maintain a primary narcissistic link. It’s also a text showing that she is in mourning, and showing her activism, as a mirrored mother’s one. Through the lens of the literary narrative as a retrospective construction, we are wondering about the way to accomodate unconscious death wows and the ambivalence, in order to present them to the social body. Taking place in all kinds of bereavement, they seem to generate here, due to this particular kind of death – resulting from a dying decision – an important feeling of guilt and an intense desire for reparation and forgiveness, that finds its fulfilment in the exercice of writing. In closing, beyond the situation related in the literary work, writing may be the place to search for a meaning, related to maternal past events. |
