| Summary, etc. | Humans have always sought to adapt and control their environment. The development of our brain and our cerebral connections has made it possible to improve our living conditions in a prodigious way, although there are great disparities on the global level. However, certain technological advances and certain human behaviours dramatically damage the environment in which humans live. This is not without consequences for human health which is closely linked to the quality of the global environment and that of animals and plants. These disturbances directly or indirectly affect the development and functioning of the brain, an organ that we thought was well protected and whose vulnerability is now being discovered. This fragility has consequences for diseases that affect the brain, and for our ability to decide and act. |

| Summary, etc. | L’homme a toujours cherché à s’adapter et à maîtriser son environnement. Le développement de son cerveau et de ses connexions cérébrales a permis d’améliorer ses conditions de vie de façon prodigieuse, même s’il existe de grandes disparités au niveau mondial. Or, certaines avancées technologiques ou certains comportements humains dégradent de façon dramatique l’environnement dans lequel l’homme vit. Cela n’est pas sans conséquence sur la santé humaine qui est intimement liée à la qualité de l’environnement global, et à celle des animaux et des végétaux. Ces perturbations affectent directement ou indirectement le développement et le fonctionnement du cerveau, organe que l’on pensait bien protégé et dont on découvre aujourd’hui la vulnérabilité. Cette fragilité a des conséquences sur les maladies qui touchent le cerveau et sur notre capacité à décider et à agir. |
