It shows how villages situated in an essentially rural area have grown rapidly into small towns by offering lodgings to tourists. By the 1930s self-catering accommodation along the strip of land between fields and beach threatened to destroy the environment of the sandhills area itself and access to the beach for other visitors. A legislative solution was found to this problem. |
